Last week, I made my first research trip! For the next six months (with the exception of a month's holiday in Amsterdam) I will be alternately visiting interesting corners of Cameroon and writing about it. Together, the stories will form a book which will hopefully be published in spring 2009 by Podium. My first visit was to breathtakingly beautiful Babungo, to discover some of the stories of that village in the North-West of Cameroon. |

In the far South-West corner of Cameroon, on the Equatorial Guinea border and skirted by the Atlantic ocean, lies the Campo Ma’an national park, an enormous coastal rain forest. Its importance to maintaining Cameroon’s and even the world’s biodiversity ensures that the Campo Ma’an gets plenty of attention from conservationist organisations. Last weekend, we visited the eco-tourism village of Ebodjé, on the coast between Kribi and Campo. |
